La Liga: Villarreal Smash Transfer Record With €29.5m Deal For Renato Veiga
Villarreal have completed the signing of Portuguese defender Renato Veiga from Chelsea in a deal worth up to €29.5 million, including add-ons, marking the most expensive transfer in the Spanish club’s history.
The 21-year-old has signed a long-term contract until 2032, committing his future to Villarreal for the next seven seasons.

According to Fabrizio Romano’s X post on Friday, the agreement includes a guaranteed fee of €24.5m, with a further €5 million in performance-based bonuses.

“Renato Veiga signs in at Villarreal for €29.5m package, add-ons included, and a sell-on clause. Record signing for the Spanish club, deal done by his agent Nelson Veiga from MondoVictory and brokered by Ali Barat, from Epic Sports,” Romano posted.

Chelsea has also secured a significant sell-on clause, ensuring they benefits from any future transfer involving the player.
The move represents a major investment by the player, who see Veiga as a key part of their long-term project.

Known for his versatility and composure on the ball, Veiga is expected to strengthen the club’s defensive setup while offering flexibility in midfield when needed.
