Woman Delivers Twin Boys at Kebbi First Lady’s Event, Bags ₦5m Gift

A woman on Sunday reportedly delivered twin baby boys during a political fundraising event organised by the First Lady of Kebbi State, Zainab Nasir Idris, held in Birnin Kebbi.

The incident occurred at Haliru Audu Stadium, where women had gathered for a programme aimed at raising funds to support women’s groups across the state. The woman reportedly went into labour during the event and delivered the babies at the venue.

Governor Nasir Idris, his wife, and other political stakeholders were in attendance.

Following the development, a member of the House of Representatives representing Suru/Bagudo Federal Constituency, Bello Dallatun Ka’oje, announced a donation of ₦5 million to the mother on behalf of the governor to support her medical care and the naming ceremony of the newborns.

The woman, who was said to have attended the event in search of support, was later evacuated alongside her babies to a hospital for further medical attention.

Also speaking at the event, the Chairman of the Kebbi State Pilgrims Welfare Agency, Faruk Enabo, donated one million wrappers for distribution to women in celebration of Eid-el-Kabir. He further pledged ₦30 million to the women’s groups on behalf of himself and his associates, and presented a vehicle to the organisation’s leadership.

He noted that women remain key stakeholders in politics and business, describing them as critical to electoral success, and assured continued support for their welfare.

More than ₦200 million was raised during the event to support women’s groups in Kebbi State.
